Permit Room is an all-day bar-café serving up delicious breakfasts, seriously good bar snacks, moreish curries, and plates for sharing (all with a selection of signature Dishoom delights). There’s also a knock-out line-up of cocktails to wash it all down with. Local DJs are on the decks, spinning worn vinyls and favourite grooves. It’s our tribute to the way Bombay kicks back and cuts loose – a salute to the city’s permit rooms, beer bars and drinking holes. Arched into the cobbled lane of Trinity Street, Permit Room Cambridge is a lively and welcoming neighbourhood spot, packed with regulars who fill the room with warmth and good humour. Roles at This Permit Room
We’re hiring for a range of bar and hospitality roles at Permit Room Cambridge, a spirited and welcoming spot with a strong local following. Whether you’re looking for FOH, Bar, Kitchen or Management opportunities, we offer training, progression and a supportive team culture.
We’re often looking for Servers (Waiter/Waitress), Hosts (FOH Team Member/Senior Receptionist), Food Runners (Food Server/Service Assistant), Cocktail Bartenders (Senior Bartenders) and Bar-backs (Bar Support/Bar Team Members).
 Our kitchens welcome Commis Chefs, CDPs, Tandoor Chefs, Curry Chefs, Sous Chefs and Head Chefs.
 We also recruit Floor Managers (Assistant Managers, Department Managers, Deputy Managers, Restaurant Managers) and Assistant General Managers.

What to expect:<ul><li>Free team meals every shift, plus all the Chai you can drink!</li><li>£39500-£42000 per year inclusive of tronc. We pay on a monthly basis.</li><li>A full-time role working across 5 days, Monday - Sunday availability required.</li><li>A weekly changing rota provided at least 6 days in advance.</li><li>We’re an all-day dining Cafe, meaning our teams work a variety of daytime and evening shifts (not the usual always late nights!)</li><li>Access to our award-winning training programmes and support. We focus on your development from day one and proudly promoted 211 Dishoom-walles last year!</li><li>The usual number of days holiday a year - paid for at your usual rate. Our sites are closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and if you have children, we’ll provide one extra day to take them to their first day at school.</li><li>No uniforms here - smart/ casual and comfortable is key, and of course trainers are fine.</li></ul> Have you got Seva?In Dishoom, we see every team member as valuable and important to ensuring the all-around brilliant experience for our guests.Like any restaurant operation, our Babus' (Managers) are imperative to the success of our business. We genuinely couldn’t do what we do without them!Permit Rooms can get busy; circa 3,000 covers per site per week, with demanding shifts &amp; first-class service execution. We are lucky enough to have (quite regularly) people waiting to dine with us.However, at Dishoom on a busy evening shift, there is the support of multiple other Babus, plus 20-30 Dishoom-walles, all fully focused in their roles to support one another. Also, you are empowered to do the right thing when no one is looking. We never want to deter from our service standards, and aim to pursue unreasonable hospitality to our guests every day through Seva.On top of that, our healthy pay, plentiful benefits and well-being support we have in place aren’t too bad either!
